Empty arms, aching heart...

Today a young man I work with will have his life changed forever...I know, because that's what happened to me. Eternal perspective will have a deeper meaning; living the gospel is vital.

He and his wife are in the hospital awaiting the birth of their baby. However, unlike their previous births, they have two boys, they will leave the hospital with empty arms and an aching heart because this full term baby boy will be stillborn.

My heart aches for them because I know how we felt when our Alison was born. You still have to endure labor, but instead of joy, you feel heartache. These precious babies are STILL...pause... BORN to loving parents who wanted them to join their earthly family. I pray they find comfort as we have. I will tell him we honor Alison with angelfood cake on her birthday.
I pray we will live worthy to be with Alison after our earthly life is over...
because our family is an eternal family.

Jack and Sadie LOVE us!

Jack, Ang, Sadie and Amy were on the front porch when we pulled up. Jack saw us and said "Hi, guys!" Then reality hit him....it's REALLY grandma and grandpa and he started jumping up and down and flappng his arms...he was so excited to see us! Sadie was all smiles...I think with her only being 8 months old SKYPE bridged those miles and she recognized us and our voices.

It's been a great visit. We put Jack's car seat in our rental car so he drives every place with us. It's so darn cute to hear him humming and singing in the back seat! We gave him a map and he tells his grandpa whether to turn left or right and once he even told us to get on the 10---the freeway!

It's going to be difficult to leave tomorrow night.
